iPads - October 2019
From the funds that The Friends of School have raised they have purchased a class set of iPads for the school. There was great excitement in Class 5 as they were the first class to use the iPads. The children used them for Times Table Rock Stars and really enjoyed their session on them. All the classes will be able to use the iPads to help with their class work and they will be a real asset to the school.
Thank you to The Friends of School and everyone who supports their events.
School Garden - July 2018
The school garden is looking wonderful this summer thanks to the children's hard work, ably assisted by the Friends of School Gardening Group. The Garden Club meet every Thursday lunchtime and then the ladies from the Friends of School stay and help the classes with the planting of the seeds during class time. So far they have had a good crop of radishes and strawberries with a lot more produce to come.
A big thank you to all the gardening team!
Who are we?
Friends of School (FOS) is a registered charity, which was set up to raise funds for school resources in addition to the school budget. We are members of the National Association of PTAs and are made up of a group of dedicated parents and carers who are truly committed to raising funds in any way that we can. We also rely on the support of people who are happy to help out whenever they can and most importantly that turn up to support events!
What do we do?
Tons of great stuff! As a fund raising body we organise various events throughout the year. It’s fun and can be hard work but also a really rewarding way in which to make a contribution to the school and community.
Would you like to join FOS?
FOS makes a real difference to our school and this is entirely due to the contribution of FOS members and support of the head teacher and staff.
We are always delighted for new parents/carers to join – it’s lots of fun and a great way to make new friends! We meet about once every two months, but don’t worry, we don’t expect everyone to make all the meetings or help out at every fundraiser.
If you’d like to join or would like more information, please contact any one of the committee or find us on the playground most days.

New Role for 2018/19 - FOS Class Representatives
The aim of the class reps is to:
1. Be a link with a Specific Class Parent / Carer Body & with Class Teacher, Class & Class
2. Bring feedback, Class Requirements & Fundraising Proposals to Committee;
3. Communicate & Promote FOS Events to the class; and
4. Recruit helpers to FOS events.
We are really excited about this new role and hope to engage the interest of a wider group of children, parents/carers and the community.
This will help direct FOS funds to be spent where it is most needed.
